We want to share an important update with our customers, patients, and wholesale partners about changes coming to CommCan’s product lineup.
After years as the exclusive Massachusetts cultivator of Cookies-branded flower, CommCan is ending its licensing relationship with the national Cookies brand. The flower itself is not going anywhere. It has always been grown at our facility, and that will continue. Only the branding is changing. Below, our CEO Marc Rosenfeld shares the full story in his own words.
A Statement from Our CEO
CommCan has made the difficult decision to end its association with the national cannabis brand Cookies due to the recent, dramatic, changes within their corporate structure.
Over the next several months, CommCan will continue to work through its existing Cookies branded packaging, at which point we will transition the genetics currently associated with Cookies to packaging consistent with CommCan’s in-house brands.
Cookies branded flower has always been grown, processed and packaged by CommCan. That will not change moving forward.
As the oldest continuous cultivator of Cookies flower in the United States, we did not make this decision lightly. However, recent decisions made by Cookies have made the continuation of this relationship, in its current form, untenable.
—Marc Rosenfeld, CEO
CommCan, Inc.
What This Means for Our Customers
We understand that any change to a product you love can raise questions. The most important thing to know is this: the cannabis itself is not changing. The same genetics, cultivated by the same team in the same Massachusetts facility, will continue to be available under new packaging in the months ahead.
What’s Staying the Same
The flower you’ve come to trust has always been CommCan flower. Every Cookies-branded product sold in Massachusetts has been grown, processed, and packaged at our facility by our cultivation team. That hands-on, vertically integrated approach is what made the partnership work in the first place, and it’s what will carry forward into our in-house brands.
What’s Changing
Over the coming months, you’ll see a gradual transition on dispensary shelves. Cookies-branded product will remain available while we work through our existing packaging inventory. After that, the genetics will move into CommCan’s in-house brands. We’ll share more details on specific strains and timing as those plans come together.

Looking Ahead
As one of Massachusetts’ original vertically integrated cannabis companies, CommCan has spent more than a decade building a reputation for quality cultivation right here in the Commonwealth. The Cookies partnership was a meaningful chapter in that story, and we’re proud of the work we did together.
What comes next is a continuation of what we’ve always done best: growing exceptional cannabis under our own roof. We’re a family-run, Massachusetts-grown cannabis company, and we’re committed to quality at every step.
Thank you to our customers, patients, and partners for your continued trust. We’re excited for the next chapter.
