The History Behind 4/20
The story of 4/20 dates back to the early 1970s in
San Rafael, California. A group of high school students, known as the “Waldos,” would meet at 4:20 PM after school to search for a rumored hidden cannabis crop. Although they never found the elusive crop, their 4:20 meetups became a code for enjoying cannabis, and the term spread far and wide with a little help from
The Grateful Dead.
Today, 4/20 is a day to celebrate cannabis culture and push for continued legalization and acceptance around the world.
CommCoins
They’re back! Kick off your 4/20 savings with a Scavenger Hunt by CommCan! Starting this Friday, April 17th, our dispensary employees will be going around the great state of Massachusetts dropping off “CommCoins.” A CommCoin is a coin that acts the same way as crypto or a stock. The price of the coin will go up and down over time, however it will never fall below its $10 base price.
We will deploy the coins at a local landmark or a recognizable area, then post a short video on our Instagram revealing the surroundings of where the coin was dropped. When the coin has been found, just send us a quick message, and we’ll congratulate you on your find! A new coin will be dropped in the surrounding areas in each of our three dispensaries every day leading up to 4/20; happy hunting! Be sure to check the value of your coin here!
